With 3,101 M.A.S.L. (10,173 ft) Pico Duarte is the highest peak in the Caribbean and the 79th. most prominent peak in the world. But next to Pico Duarte you have La Pelona with 3,098m and La Rusilla with 3,044m. These 3 are the highest mountains in the Caribbean. This is a magical place. Surround yourself with a pristine and exotic nature in this National Park and do this challenge with us.

-Because of the intensity of this excursion, you must be in a good physical and mental condition.
-You must be aware that weather condition can affect or vary the logistic of this challenge and we will always choose safety over success although we will do our best to help you achieve this important feat.
-Rates are not for a private guided-hike. There is a possibility that we join other hikers to your excursion without changes on your rate.
-This is a very rural and basic experience, please do not expect any luxury conditions in this adventure.
-Hiking snacks are not included

3 x 3 Itinerary:
- Acclimatizacion day: Arrival at La Cienaga trailhead (1,100 m / 3,060 ft) at 7PM – Meet our staff
- Day 1: Hike from Trailhead to La Rusilla Summit (3,044 m / 9,987 ft) via Aguita Fria route, back to Aguita Fria and hike to Comparticion Camp (2,500 m / 8200 ft). This hike takes around 21 kms or 10/11 hours
- Day 2: Hike from Comparticion to La Pelona SUMMIT (3,098 m / 10,164 ft) via Valle de Lilis, back to Valle de Lilis and hike to Pico Duarte SUMMIT (3,101 m / 10,174 ft), back to Comparticion. This hike takes around 13.5 kms or 6 hours
- Day 3: Hike from Comparticion to La Cienaga. This hike takes around 18 kms or 7 hours
We offer transfer options so you can get to La Cienaga trailhead in an easy and safe way in case you do not have access to a car.
If you have access to a car you need to know that the road is in very good condition and there is a safe parking lot next to the trail entrance.
These are our transfer options up to 3 people:
- From Jarabacoa (Center) to La Cienaga trailhead: US$ 55 – 1 hour
- From Gran Jimenoa Hotel Jarabacoa to La Cienaga trailhead: US$ 65 – 1 hour and 15 minutes
- From Santiago city (Center) to La Cienaga trailhead: US$ 135 – 2 hours
- From Santo Domingo city (Center) to La Cienaga trailhead: US$ 195 – 4 hours
- From SDQ Airport to La Cienaga trailhead: US$ 205 – 4.5 hours
-We have transfer options for bigger groups.
The night before the first hike we will meet at La Cienaga trailhead so we can talk a bit about the hike and get you ready for your upcoming adventure.
For this night we offer you the option of sleep in our tents (No additional costs).
Here we will include you a tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad.
If you want to sleep a bit more comfortable, we have rooms near trailhead. Feel free to ask our rates.
